Schibsted News Media shines in the INMA Global Media Awards

There is reason to celebrate across News Media right now. At VG, Aftonbladet, Aftenposten, and Svenska Dagbladet. At Omni, Stavanger Aftenblad, and – especially – Bergens Tidende. The latter is responsible for five (!) of the 13 final places.

Schibsted is a role model and inspiration for many media houses around the world – this can be seen not least in the finalists for the INMA Global Media Awards, which are described by some as the Oscars of journalism.

I count 13 nominations. It’s an insanely good job being done by our organisation right now. I am so proud, says Siv Juvik Tveitnes, EVP, Schibsted News Media.

There is a lot of excellent journalism being done in our media houses right now. And parallel to that, a lot of great and innovative efforts are also being made in our organisation to showcase our journalism – and that is so clearly reflected in the INMA Global Media Awards, says Siv Juvik Tveitnes.

An example of this is Svenska Dagbladet, nominated for the news service SvD Kompakt in the category Best New Digital Product. SvD Kompakt was launched last fall and has already 27,000 subscribers.

The INMA Global Media Awards are among the media world’s finest honors, so, of course, I am very happy and proud of the entire Kompakt team who made this possible. It is a fantastic confirmation that our work is of the highest international standard, says Johan Silfversten Bergman, Editorial Development Manager at Svenska Dagbladet.

The winners will be revealed at a gala in London in April.
