Penger.no was launched in 2012 as part of FINN.no. The service was developed to help users find the best deals in personal finance.
VG Lab takes over
In 2019, VG Lab took over Penger.no and initiated extensive redevelopment, with mortgages as the first focus area. The goal was to make personal financial advice simpler and more accessible to the general public.
Strengthen by VG
As part of VG, Penger.no receives solid editorial support from the journalists at VG, E24, and Dine Penger. This ensures that Penger.no can deliver quality content and objective information to its users.
Objective guides and useful calculators
Penger.no started with mortgages and has expanded to cover much more, offering objective guides and calculators that make it easy to compare everything from credit cards to electricity contracts.
More newspapers have joined
In 2024, several of Schibsted's newspapers, such as Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad, and Aftenposten, joined the Penger.no project. This allows their journalism on personal finance to be enhanced with overviews and calculators from Penger.no directly integrated into the articles.
