“This is part of our efforts to become even faster and to grow even stronger in the market,” says Raoul Grünthal, CEO of Schibsted in Sweden. “The high pace of change, both within the Group and externally, imposes considerable demands on our joint communications, and in Fredrik Lindén we gain a force that is highly suited for driving that process.”
At the start of the year, Schibsted Sverige introduced a new organization in Sweden with three new business areas: Publishing, Growth and Classified Media. In the new organization, the Swedish companies share corporate functions such as HR, finance and communications. As a direct consequence of this, Fredrik Lindén, previously Head of Communications at Aftonbladet, will now take up the role s Director of Communications.
Fredrik Lindén will report to Lena K Samuelsson, Executive Vice President Communications & CSR in Schibsted Media Group.
For the past three years, Fredrik Lindén has been Head of Communications at Aftonbladet. During his 12 years at Aftonbladet, he has also been a reporter, program manager at Aftonbladet TV and union chapter chairman.
“In a period of extreme change for Aftonbladet, Fredrik Lindén has demonstrated how communications of a modern media company should be run,” says Jan Helin, Aftonbladet’s publisher and Manager of the Publishing business area in Schibsted Sverige. “He has provided sharpness, speed and great integrity to make sure Aftonbladet is seen and heard in a positive way in the media industry and in the business community. The fact that he is now shouldering a broader responsibility is positive for Schibsted Sverige as a whole.”
Fredrik Lindén will continue to be responsible for communications at Aftonbladet until further notice.
