During Schibsted’s annual Strategy Summit, Britt Nilsen, Head of Sustainability at Schibsted, took the opportunity to sit down with Sumeet Singh Patpatia, Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging to discuss the importance of DIB for a forward-leaning company like Schibsted. Listen to the podcast here.
Earlier this year, we hired our first Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Sumeet Singh Patpatia, who will drive the DIB agenda at Schibsted in order to achieve the ambitious goal set. This includes having the right practices in place to attract and retain a workforce that is as diverse as our customers. It is also essential for innovation that people feel included and comfortable bringing their whole selves to work, contributing with their different views to boost innovation and create value within the company. Equally as important is that all employees have a sense of belonging in the workplace, that their voice is heard.
Schibsted depends on a workforce with a diverse mindset that contributes with all its different experiences, backgrounds, and perspectives. If we don’t reflect our stakeholders – our users, readers, customers, employees and future employees, business partners, advertisers, and so on – we can’t deliver the best products and services to them. Additionally, Patpatia says, “if we do not include all the different blocks of the population, how can we recruit the best talent?”
