Aftonbladet’s Sofia Olsson Olsén will join the board as a regular board member.
“The media industry is in transition, and that makes the role of the Swedish Media Publishers’ Association (Tidningsutgivarna) more important than ever before. I’m honored to have been asked, and if I’m elected I look forward to leading the work together with the other board members,” says Raoul Grünthal.
He adds: “I’m especially proud of the fact that the nomination means that the new board, if elected, will be fully gender-equal.”
The nominating committee has proposed Lena Larsson, CEO of Stampen Local Media, and Sture Bergman, CEO of the VK Group, as deputy chairs.
Sofia Olsson Olsén, editor-in-chief of Aftonbladet, has been nominated as one of the new board members.
“I didn’t really hesitate when I was asked, apart from the time aspect, and whether I really had the time,” says Sofia Olsson Olsén.
“This will be a repeat performance for me; I was a member almost ten years ago, but it feels like an important task now more than ever before. By that I mean the transition the media industry is undergoing, with dramatically changing readership behavior and the challenges this presents.”
