With the collaboration, the media groups and the Tinius trust want to demonstrate that free and investigative journalism is a concern that transcends both ownership structures and nationalities.

Stampen Media with, among others, Göteborgs-Posten and Schibsted News Media – including Aftonbladet, SvD, VG and Aftenposten – join Tinius Trust as proud sponsors of the conference.

It’s the first time the two media groups and the Tinius Trust have made a common cause for journalism and the investment is based on a mutual stance – that investigative journalism is a matter concerning the whole of society, regardless of whether it is run by a Stampen newspaper, a Schibsted newspaper, or any other independent media house – and regardless of where in the world it is produced.

The Global Investigative Journalism Conference is the world’s largest international conference for investigative journalists and is held every two years. This is the first time it’s been held in Sweden.

Among other things, GIJC invites you to seminars with inspiring international speakers and exciting cases, on the latest tools and techniques for investigative journalism, pioneering workshops and extensive networking and brainstorming sessions – but also a variety of social activities to promote knowledge exchange across editorial and country borders.

The conference is also an opportunity for Schibsted News Media and Stampen Media to shine a spotlight on the in-depth journalism being done in the two media groups for colleagues worldwide.
