“We are now accelerating into the hockey season. We strongly believe in the combination of podcasts and video, which is an important part of Sportbladet’s evolving content going forward. The collaboration with Dobb 2.0 gives us and Hockeymorgon vodcast an extra boost. Nearly 300,000 streams started right from the start shows we are entering the hockey season incredibly strong”, says Magnus Herbertsson, Sports Editor at Aftonbladet.
Ahead of the fall launch, Sportbladet has adjusted both content, distribution, and platform.
“We want to increase the number of listeners and viewers and achieve a stronger reach, not least through social platforms where we will make significant strides this season. I am convinced that our users will notice the difference, and our advertisers will appreciate the change”, says Magnus Herbertsson.
Two recruits
Ahead of the fall premiere, two recruits have also been brought into Hockeymorgon. Tobias Dahlberg, a long-time commentator and host at Viaplay and TV4 Play, becomes the new host. The former ice hockey goaltender and coach Christopher Heino-Lindberg also joins as a new expert, alongside Johanna Lagus, who has been with the show since the beginning.
“We are excited and very much looking forward to leading Hockeymorgon forward. Our main focus will remain on the SHL, where we, together with various guests and profiles from Sportbladet, will create space for different perspectives on everything related to hockey, both on and off the ice. We want to create a strong and entertaining format for hockey fans”, says Tobias Dahlberg.
Former hockey goaltender Christopher Heino-Lindberg will take his place as an expert alongside Johanna Lagus.
“It will be incredibly interesting to switch sides and get the chance to contribute the knowledge and insights I’ve gained over the years. I am also humble about the challenge of no longer being a coach but instead being someone who has opinions about what happens in the SHL and other hockey leagues. But I am very much looking forward to it,’ says Christopher Heino-Lindberg”.
”Hockeymorgon” is a format developed in partnership between Sportbladet and Dobb 2.0 and is broadcast live on Sportbladet and YouTube twice a week. After each broadcast, the program is published as a podcast.”
